From Berlin ...

To kick off the 2022/2023 season, we decided to participate in the Short Course World Cup in Berlin. My entries were the 200m, 400m and 1500m Freestyle.

Despite not feeling in top form after just a few weeks of training and experiencing some uncertainty, I entered the first race, the 400m Freestyle, with less nervousness than usual.

Surprisingly, I managed to improve my personal best time by a solid 4 seconds.

1500 m Freestyle

The next day, the 1500m Freestyle was on the agenda. I wanted to test my capabilities, as my previous best time was 15:08, and I aimed to swim under 15 minutes for the first time.

After a strong race, where I distanced myself from the competitors quite early and essentially swam the race alone, I achieved a new personal best time of 14:56. This performance even qualified me for the Short Course World Championships in Melbourne.
